Iranian Memorizer Due in Russia for Int’l Quran Contest

IQNA – Iran will participate in an upcoming international Quran contest in Russia’s capital.

The 22nd edition of the Moscow international Quran competition is scheduled to be held early next month.

Mohammad Rasoul Takbiri, a memorizer of the entire Quran, will represent Iran in the international event.

Last year, Hossein Khani Bidgoli competed for Iran in the 21st edition of the contest and finished runner-up while the memorizers from Russia and India came first and third respectively. 

Slated for November 6-8, the 22nd edition will be organized by the Spiritual Administration of the Muslims of the Russian Federation with support from Qatar’s ministry of Awqaf and Islamic affairs.

Quran memorizers from more than 30 countries will take part in the competition.

The contestants’ performances will take place in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque.

The closing ceremony of the contest is slated to take place on November 8 in the concert hall of the Cosmos Hotel.
